Forum Rules

The PhotoBoothTalk.com Forum is a public message board, and while we encourage a free flow of information and lively debate, we must ask that you follow these basic rules. By using or participating on the PhotoBoothTalk.com forums, you agree to the Rules of Conduct as stated below, as well as the PhotoBoothTalk.com User Agreement.

Moderation
The PhotoBoothTalk Forum is a moderated forum. However, it is simply not possible for moderators to read each and every post made on all the various forums. Therefore, please use these rules as a guideline as to what is and is not allowed to be posted on the Forum. If you see something that you feel is against the Forum Rules, please report it using the “report post” button. Please note that the moderators have the final say-so in any situation that you report. They will evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis and take appropriate action where needed.

What Do Moderators Do?
Moderators monitor board posts and respond to complaints to keep the forum free of undesirable content as described in the Forum Rules and User Agreement. They enforce the forum rules, and can delete posts, edit posts, as well as remove a user’s ability to visit the forums through temporary or permanent bans. Please respect and adhere to moderators warnings, both public and private. Failure to do so may result in additional warnings or a ban.

Pornography & Sexually Explicit Content
Absolutely no forms of pornography or overly sexually suggestive imagery are allowed on the boards, this includes links and/or posting a name of a porn site. Posting such material will result in a warning.

Hate and Trolling
Hate posts and personal attacks will not be tolerated on the PhotoBoothTalk Forums. Treat others on these message boards as you would expect them to treat you. We are all entitled to our opinions and that may included negative opinions, but if you are knowingly or purposely posting to incite anger/negativity on the board or from the community, you are trolling. These boards are meant for meaningful discussions and debates, not a place for you to start trouble. These posts will be deleted and will result in a warning.

Profanity
Offensive language is unacceptable. While we may allow language one might hear on network television, don’t go overboard. All letters of an offensive word must be edited out. Remember, you don’t have to use excessive profanity to get your point across, and it’s usually better to avoid it altogether. Profanity in posts will be edited out, and repeat offenders or those who use excessive profanity will receive a warning.

Advertising & Solicitation
Posting for the pure purpose of driving traffic to your own website is not allowed. This includes posts directing users to your products and services for sale, other board systems, money making ventures, etc. These boards are not an advertising platform for you to use to sell your products to users. (NOTE: You are allowed to post one link to your photo booth rental site in your signature, however a link to a site selling photo booths is not allowed.  PhotoBoothTalk.com sponsors may include links to their sponsor websites in their signatures.) Spam advertising via the Private Message system will result in immediate termination of your account. If you are interested in advertising your products on PhotoBoothTalk, please contact us at advertising@photoboothtalk.com for details.

Vendors offering products or services that are useful to our members may post their links in the Vendors section only. Vendors may start a single thread with a link to a website where their product or service is sold. Any product or service updates should be added to your original thread. Links to websites where competing forums or blogs are hosted are strictly prohibited. Your listing may be added for free, as long as you are an active member of the forum with a minimum of 10 contributory posts that are not self promoting . This free privilege is subject to change at a later date.

Please be mindful that these are Vendor Product and Service Listings. Legitimate questions about the product or service may be posted here. However, this is not the place to state our personal objections to the vendor’s offerings, unless you own the product. Please reserve that for other areas of our forum. If you own the product or have experienced the vendor’s service, you may post a review on the vendor’s listing. If you have a customer service issue, please contact the vendor privately for assistance instead of using the board to resolve the issue.

Piracy and Warez
PhotoBoothTalk has a very strict policy against piracy. Linking to, or giving information about any site that distributes illegal software, or warez, seeking help to circumvent any copyright laws, attempting to bypass authentication or registration codes, or encouraging software or media piracy is grounds for an immediate ban.

Impersonating Other Users / Accessing Another User’s Account
You may not impersonate another board member or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. Also, accessing or using someone else’s account or attempting to access another poster’s account is strictly prohibited. You will be banned.

Off-Topic Posts
Topics should be posted in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting. Users consistently posting to the wrong forum may be given a warning. All non-photo booth related discussion should be posted in the General Discussion Forum.

Private Messaging
The above forum rules, where applicable, also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings, bans, and/or the revocation of private messaging.

Signatures
Signatures may contain up to three lines of text (of small or normal size) and/or one image. Please keep images to no more than 60px high, 468px wide and 6KiB (6144 Bytes) in size. Animated images are not allowed. Limit on image file size prevents detrimental effect on forums page load speed.

Text sizes should be between 75% and 100% (small and normal). Images and text in signatures is subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, warez, etc.

Classified Boards
The Classified boards are designed as a forum where you can sell, buy, or trade items with your fellow PhotoBoothTalk Users. This is the only forum where items may be posted for sale. Items posted for sale in any other forum will be deleted. Bootlegs, warez, or any other illegal material may NOT be listed on the PhotoBoothTalk Classified Forum. These posts WILL be deleted and the user may be banned. You are allowed to bump your listing a maximum of three times, but please no more. If someone wants to buy your goods, they will contact you. Please follow the directions in this post when listing an item for sale. Please note that the classifieds are intended for users to sell goods that they no longer need. Companies, manufacturers, or individuals with retail items to sell should contact us at advertising@photoboothtalk.com for advertising info. Retail items are NOT allowed on the classifieds.

PhotoBoothTalk is in no way involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers on the Classified Forum. This forum is only meant as a means for users to sell, trade, and buy goods, and PhotoBoothTalk accepts no responsibility for the legality, safety, accuracy, or legitimacy of the items listed in the Classifieds. Since we cannot guarantee that a buyer or seller will complete a transaction, both parties accept full responsibility for any transactions transpiring through the PhotoBoothTalk forums.

Questionable Content
Since it would be impossible to have a rule to cover everything, this is the rule to, well cover everything not mentioned in any of the aforementioned rules. These are public boards, so act like you would if you were in a public place. These issues are left to the discretion of the individual moderators, but may include any material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, racist, sexist, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy or that otherwise violates any law or encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.

Bans
If you have been banned, when you attempt to log into PhotoBoothTalk Forums, you will receive a message that you have been banned explaining the reason for the ban, as well as the time when your ban will be lifted. Bans are private matters between the Moderators and person banned and will not be discussed publicly or through third parties. It is not acceptable to return to the boards under another username. If you do, your ban time may be extended.

Circumventing a Ban
Creating an alternate username and logging into the boards to continue to post will result in added ban time to your original banned account and the new username will be permanently banned.

Policing
By registering at the PhotoBoothTalk Forum, users agree that any post deemed inappropriate may be removed at the sole discretion of PhotoBoothTalk or the forum moderators. PhotoBoothTalk also has the right, at its sole discretion, to revoke board privileges at any time without notice or reason. Think of these rules as a forewarning and, if you break them, you’re taking your account status into your own hands.

PhotoBoothTalk operates a three strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of three times for any and all offenses in a three month period. If the need arises for a fourth warning, the user will be subject to a temporary ban for a length of time between 6 hours to 30 days, depending on the severity of the infraction, and the user’s history.

Arguing with team members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.

Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While PhotoBoothTalk may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.
